The first film written, produced and directed by the British film making team of Michael Powell and Emeric tells the story of an indestructible friendship between an English and a German officials. This friendship lasts from 1902 to 1943 and survives two world wars and the love for the same woman. The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp is an optimistic opera which deals with friendship and love in a light but yet deep way. Wiston Churchill decided to boycott the movie, which reached Italy only in the '50s. All the female characters are interpreted by the talented Deborah Kerr.
