Fred Leuchter, a true story. The great documentarist Errol Morris accompanies us through the eccentric story of Mr. Leuchter. Once a sought-after expert in building electric chairs, he turned into a poor sod and was fought by the same system that used him as a fundamental element when, in 1988, he was sought as a witness for the defence of Ernst Zündel on trial in Canada for publishing and sending material denying the Holocaust overseas. Leuchter was asked by the defence to travel to Poland to visit Auschwitz to investigate whether there had been operating gas chambers for executions at the camp. The portrait of a cynic man, not even very intelligent, but honest.
