Going back to the beaches that have left a mark in her life, Agnès Varda invents, with Les plages d'Agnès a sort of "self-documentary collage". Combining parts of her movies, images and reportage, she tells us, with a sincere and playful approach, about the beginnings of her career, first as a photographer for the theatre and then as a movie director in the fifties, but also about her private life spent with Jacques Demy, her allegiance for the feminist cause, her travels to Cuba, China, United States, her experience as a private producer, her family and her love for beaches.
