In the 23rd century, Commander John Adams and his crew are sent on expedition to a distant planet to investigate on the silence of the scientists living there. On arrival, they finds out that an unknown "planetary force" killed nearly everyone except doctor Morbius and his daughter, Altaira. Later on, doctor Adams finds out something he doesn't want to share with anybody else… A classic science fiction film which offers a reflection on the difficulties to manage knowledge. The movie was nominated for an Academy Award for its special effects in 1956 together with "The Ten Commandments" which won the Oscar.
