A man moves alone in an empty apartment. Behind the camera there is his daughter, following him in his new life as a widower, started four years ago. In the evening, the man gets ready to go to the cinema, where he will meet Vera, an Ukrainian woman who will become his closest friend. Vera has left in Ukraine her daughter, Halina, who sends her mom photos and videos to share her days and emotions with her. Halina becomes a potential alter-ego of the director, two girls who share the sudden separation from their mothers. The director decides to leave for a long journey by bus from Naples to Ukraine, to meet her new "sister" and give her a possibility to send a new message to her mother Vera.
