"She says I was sick... you are sick, you are sick, I am sick... do you feel good? I don't think so". Francesca's words open the film. "La Carovana" ("The Caravan") is a self-help/mutual aid group of parents of children with intellectual disabilities. The group gives them the possibility of telling their stories, which are also their children's stories, without feeling extraneous or judged and ,above all, they feel they have the right to "love each other", to go beyond the sense of guilt and failure. But suffering is not the only theme: there is Claudio and Francesca's effort to live together with their son Michele as intensely as possible, there is Alessandro's inner world, another son, who tells us about that big park in the Equatorial Africa that is the Eden for any kind of animals, where, thanks to his way of "walking looking downward", he found a golden necklace worth twice his monthly pay.
