The Zone is a mysterious region, nobody knows how or when it was formed, the authorities had it evacuated and they keep it under control impeding the entrance to anyone who tries to enter it. The Zone contains a place called "The Room", said to grant the wishes of anyone who steps inside.
A writer, who has lost inspiration, and a scientist, who seems self confident about what he wants, want to reach The Room. That's why they put their fate into the hands of the Stalker, who works as a guide leading people through the Zone.
