Therese's life, a waiter in a bar of Budapest, is filled with worries and stress. She lies with her son Robert, twenty years old, who doesn't know his father.
Therese falls in love with László, a middle class police man, who moves into their house, bringing with him the hope of a peaceful family life, but soon enough, Robert's real interest becomes clearer. He is not interested in Therese, but in her son, Robert.
